Great video, good to see the collaboration documented.

  3. Tyler says:

It was great to be apart of watching some great brewers make a great beer.

I was fortunate enough to get a sample of it recently and I can’t wait until it’s officially released. I’ll be stockpiling it!

  4. Matt says:

Well done video. I hope this beer makes it to Texas. The idea of a brown and not black ipa is intriguing.

  5. Ruth says:

Nice promo – looking forward to trying it. And, to tasting John’s beers again.

  6. Sean says:

Well, I must say, it’s an excellent brew!!!! Had a bottle each of the last 2 nights. It’s fortunate that I live about 3 miles from the Stone Brewery. I think I just might pick up a growler full for the holidays!!! The only negative is that it’s only 12 oz or growler fills. They do not have it available in the 22 oz bottles. Can’t complain though.

  7. The Real MGD says:

Had a pint tonight at my favorite local and it’s one of the best Black IPAs I’ve ever tasted! Nicely done, looking forward to picking up some bottles at Stone when I visit there in the next couple of weeks.

That will be FANTASTIC! We look forward to it. Also wanted you guy to know that, of course, you made our “Best of” Episode for 2011. How could you not love a clip of John talking about crushing cans of Heady Topper against his forehead? Priceless.

    Happy New Year!

  9. I have heard through several “channels” that this beer has been oversold and will only see very limited distribution in Vermont. That seems incredibly unfortunate. While I/we Vermonters certainly appreciate the monetary help of the rest of the US, that should not come as a compromise to being able to easily enjoy this excellent beer in the comfort of my own home. Since we are the benefactors of the sale of this fine beer, we should at least be able ot enjoy it! Please tell be that this rumor is not true!!

Long live The Alchemist… Go Stone!! :)

    Thanks…

  10. Jen Kimmich says:

No need to worry. Althought distribution to Vermont is limited (there were only 350 barrels brewed for the entire country), we are receiving our allocation in the near future. We plan on posting a blog and sending out a twitter telling everyone when the beer will be for sale here at the brewery. In addition to the 720 bottles we will have for sale, we will also be receiving 8 kegs. We will have plenty to sample here at the brewery, and may even offer full pints (awaiting a special events permit for this). Stay tuned for more information…

  11. [...] Since Vermont received such a limited amount of this special beer, there will be a limit of 6 bottles per person.  To find out more about this beer, check out this amazing story. [...]
